The park was overgrown but that kind of suited the female Doberman that padded silently on her way. Several scent markers had reached her nose and she could only assume that this was a pack's territory. That worked out in her favour though, she was in search of a strong group of canines to join. She needed a place to call home, a place to fight for. Her lithe muscled body pleaded with her for a fight. It was what she was made form. Strong legs gave her a swift attack that her sharp fangs could finish. And mercy.. well she had no idea what that was.
It was startingly hot weather, almost more than Narcotic wanted to deal with. She stuck to the shade of the trees, her brown eyes narrowing as she scanned the area around her. She could see no other dogs but that could easily change. So many things could happen in one moment to change the course of her day maybe even her whole life if she was invited to join a pack. A huff escaped her muzzle as she shook thoughts of the future from her mind. She had to concentrate on the moment and live for the day.
Narcotic paused in her wanderings as she came to a path running through the park. She could almost see the exit from where she stood. It occurred to her that if she left the park in any sort of hurry she could become lost in the unfamiliar territory. Oh that would not improve her day at all. Settling for caution she sat down for the time being to consider her situation. "Ah what to do now.." she mused, thinking out loud as she often did.

In fact, the town was broken. It was filled with rust and decay and everything that could possibly destroy a city, including the doberman. He growled as he walked forward through the untrimmed trees and the weeds that spotted the ground. The humans needed to learn to take care of their creations and not just let them be destroyed. The brute chuckled at the thought and sat down behind a large tree. He wasn't hiding, it's just that the heat was attacking him. He sighed and rested his head in his paws. This was the edge of his land, and he could smell it. The stench of loners and the other pack wafted up to him.
Mud closed his eyes ready for some sleep to overtake him. He had long been awake for the heat of the night had offered him no rest in the junkyard. He had been searching for just the right spot all morning and here it was in the park. His body loosened up as a small breeze blew through. The city was conected, and currentl it was breathing a relaxed sigh. The brute grinned.
Sadly, Mud's smile didn't last long. When he heard the voice of a loner nearby he growled. What was a loner doing in his land? Looking for trouble was an answer. The doberman stood up and snuck around the tree to see another doberman. Unlike him though, this female doberman had brown on the muzzle. Was he different? It was strange encountering a different doberman. He was familiar to all different pack breeds, none being the same. This was surelly amussing. The leader growled and walked forward into the sunlight.
"Leave my land is what you should do." Mud glared at the female. Yes, she was another doberman, but she was intruding on his land. He wasn't one to take prisoners, nor kill a loner invading his space... He just pushed them out. Or forced them to join and work for him. They always learned their lessons though, that was sure. He gave an evil smile. She would have to learn her lesson too.

Narcotic's ears perked and she turned her head to see a male of her breed approaching in a hostile manner. She stood once more and locked her gaze with his. It had been a long time since she had met another dog that had been totally geared up for a fight. How interesting.. She held her head high and allowed a low growl to rumble in her throat. There was no way in hell that she was going to back down or show weakness so early in the game. That was all this was, a game of chance. She certainly intended to win.
"This is your land? Funny, you don't have it well guarded if it took this long for me to be detected." Ok so maybe it was not the smartest thing that she had ever done to antagonise a dog that clearly had a killer instinct. Ah well, she often threw caution to the wind but this was how she was made. Her muscles were tensed, ready for whatever happened. She had made her peace with the gods either way. Live for the day.
It occurred to her that this might not be such a bad situation after all. She had been searching for a pack to join. If this was his land then surely he was the alpha of a pack. A fighting pack, by the looks of him. A smirk edged over her muzzle unbidden. It seemed that life had played right into her paws. She found herself mentally calculating how may smart remarks she could get away with. Not many. Not yet. Still she was comfortable in such a hostile moment. It worked well with her nature and taste for danger. "I'm looking for a pack." Short a simple, always the best way to begin.

Yes, he thought, stand in my presence. Otherwise, you won't be ready to die. He flattened his ears against his skull. Ready to growl he was beat to the noise. When he heard the female growl he glared with burning eyes and snarled. The other doberman made a comment about the pack. "I don't feel the need to guard the park... Unless someone gets on the other side of the gate." The brute tensed his muscles but thought about the fact that this was a female...
Mud snorted at the fact she was looking for a pack. If it's a pack you seek, then maybe you shouldn't go around making rather rude comments on the protection of the pack. He left his thoughts and decided it was best to view the female and see what use she may be. She was strong, and the same breed as the alpha... If she was so intent on disecting his protection of the pack she might work as a tracker... But he wasn't sure just yet as to what she would do in the pack.
"Joining a pack? You don't want to annoy the alpha, or make fun of how he runs things if you are looking for a pack." Mud took a step closer, the tension in the air lightening up so that it wasn't a mood for killing, but instead just discussing... Of course it would stay that way so long she, the female meant no harm to the pack. He was a killer, but Mud still had a heart for his pack and everyone in it. Protection came first, and then the brutal side of life.
