A noise had awoken him, and it wasn't something he wanted there... Or at least that's what he hoped. He stood up out of his car and glanced around only seeing the darkness of the night. It all seemed absolutely quite and peaceful. It was almost as if the night didn't want him up. The brute grinned an evil grin and jumped down from the pile of cars that he had claimed his home from day one. No one was going to sneak up on him.
Mud took a step away from his small car. "I know you're here," he snarled looking around for a figure of another dog. "What do you want?" He growled. This was annoying him, the silence, the darkness... Everything. Had he finally gone insane and imagined the noise? With his anger boiling up inside of him he forgot to watch his back. Everything and anything could sneak up on him... The doberman flung himself around remembering that anything could come from any angle. He moved forward advancing into the center of the junkyard. This was his territory, why was someone else there? They all had places to live right? The pack members didn't need to stay in his house did they?
Mud growled again and looked toward the old rusting gate. It's left side hung stuck in the ground... Hanging by one single little piece on the bottom... It would be the easiest thing to break. The brute ran up, jumping on the gate and snapping it off it's hinges completely... Better. He turned back around heading toward his car. "This is my HOME!" The leader jumped into the stack of cars and climbed into his own. "Who dare ruin the peace?"

Shasta continued on into the junkyard. Unaware of really how agressive the alpha was, she continued on. It was quiet in the junkyard. Very quiet. It was dead silent. Was there any other dogs around here. She could just barely hear a dog growling as she came farther into the yard. It had made her neck fur rise. She treaded cautiously as she came closer to the growling that had now faded.
As she came upon the dog, she guessed it was the alpha. Who else would ask who was in their home if they weren't? It could get a dog in some serious trouble with their alpha. She crouched down silently. She braced herself to come face to face with the dog. "This is my HOME! Who dare ruin the peace?" He was saying aloud. She looked around the car that was shielding her and saw the big brute standing ontop of the car dominantly. She could feel her fur along her spine has risen.
Her little stud of a tail risen, she walked proudly infront of the male. She flattened her ears. "Your home? So you share it with none?" She asked proudly. She gave te male a sly smile. Her eyes were zoned in on the male. She was deciding whether it would be better to stand and fight, be submissive, or be a big flirt. She looked the male over. She could tell in one glance that the male was very powerful.

He noticed how the ears flattened out against her skull. The stranger spoke proudly, and instantly the brute knew who it was, his Beta. Yes, it was his home and he shared it with no one. The fea had spunk, and he admired that about her, to a certian extent. The brute slightly raised himself up making sure that she understood that he looked up to no one... He looked down his muzzle at the beta.
"No, I don't share this home with anyone during the night." Mud laughed evilly before jumping down the stack and landing on the ground before the female. He lowered himself to the ground, preparing for a lunge, but of course, never taking one. He would refuse to harm a female unless they really made him mad, and one coming into the junkyard offered more entertainment than fun. The brute dug his paws into the ground for no reason, the silence was killing him... But then agian his mind did tend to speed things up. He wasn't patient so waiting made him nervous, unless it was in a fight... Then waiting was fun. He laughed. This female was wasting his time, but it was a perfect time to get up, hours before dawn.
Mud could now watch the sunrise, maybe even call a pack meeting... Go for a hunt, kill a few creatures that got in his way, pester people, watch some good fights... Who was he kidding, this female had just wasted an entire night of sleep. He should punish her... The beta should be deducted in rank... "How will I punish you, beta?" Mud stood up and began to circle the female. What was her name anyway? Punishment should come after name... He grinned. Let's see how long until she figures out my game.
OOC; Sorry, Mud's a little twisted sometimes.

Shasta stood up even taller. Straight actually. She wouldn't be going anywhere right now. She could tell that he wouldn't be attacking her any time soon. She could tell as soon as he jumped down from the cars and had started circling her. She lifted her ears up and away from her bulky skull. "Punish?" She asked in a surprised tone. Though she wasn't all that surpirsed. "Why punish little old me?" She asked. Sweet as a baby.
She followed the male with her eyes, not her head. Not even flinching for a moment. "Do you really want to punish me. I think not. Not when there is so many things I could do for you." She said. She lowered her head as he came into sight again. She smiled her sly smile. Waiting for him to make the next move. She usually let every dog make the first move. She would make the second. It rarely backfired on her that way, which was the way she liked it.
She shuffling her paws in the ground underneath. She usually did this when the dog took too long to make their move. It agitated her to the point where she just made the first move out of impatience. But she swore to herself she wouldn't do that this time. This would be took good to mess up right now.

Those that entered his land, punished, those that were close to him, punished, those that toyed with his mind, severely punished. He stopped circling her. What to do, what to do. Anyone could do something for him. Why was what this female offered so specail to him? He chuckled. "You say that but how long can you really put up with me." The brute stood to the side of her. His eyes glancing back at the beta. What was her name?
Mud glanced back at his car, and idea struck him, but it would have to wait. First he must disect the enemy... Even if the fea wasn't his enemy. He cocked his head still looking back. She was strong, and that was clear, but everyone had a weakness... Everyone. "May I have a name to call you, beta?" He could spit on the word beta. Why not just call her rank unimportant, because everyone was useless except the alpha. It annoyed him that he was awake because of the beta. His eyes blinked slowly. He was tired and it was the fea's fault.
Mud loved to blame other people for everything, and this fea was going to get the harshest blaming. Very second in command had to deal with the worst end of everything. The brute grinned. This beta was going to be a fun one. He hated boring, annoying betas, but this one seemed like she could actually keep her job and not die in the world... But the question was, couldd she carry her own wait, and his too?

Shasta silently stared at the alpha for a moment. Thinking of how long she could actually put up with the big brute. It really depended on how long he could put up with her. And how long would that be exactly? She could most definatly put up with him just as long, or longer, as he could put up with her. "Does that really matter now? I am here now, and that is the only thing that matters to me." She said proudly. The last part wasn't all that true, but who was to say it wasn't? He couldn't read her mind.
Shasta smiled when he asked her name. So many dogs had asked her what her name was in the past, it was impossible to forget it. But now should she tell him her name? Or should she make him guess? Making him guess would only be so much more fun. To spice up his inseemingly boring life here. "Shasta. Yours?" She asked. She wished she would have asked what his was before she told him hers.
Now she waited to see what his reaction would be. Would it be more friendly now? Doubt it. This dog seemed more agressive than anything else. If he was friendly, it probably would have shown out more. But would he be more agressive? Why, she wasn't really sure. She never really understood the mind of males. It was just advanced brain science to her.

She seemed all too proud, like her words were fake and held second meaning... Females could be so complex at times it gave the brute a headache just glancing at them. What was her game now? What was she playing at within the junkyard at midnight? He took a step closer trying to see into her mind and view her evil plan. His movement failed to see anything but the beta up closer. He remained silent as she spoke again. Her voice filled the air. It sounded almost like she, Shasta didn't want to say her name, but he brushed the thought off.
Shasta sounded familiar, like she had said it when they had first met and he had assigned her beta. Why had he given her the position of beta again? Was it because of pure strength, or because of how strong she had sounded then? Mud wasn't sure, but he did know that he wasn't just going to tell her his name... But of course he was the alpha and everyone should've known his name. "Mud, and may I ask Shasta," his voice became only a whisper, "why are you here now and why is it so important to you?"
The brute gave an evil grin. His eyes burned with the fire of his nature. He was going to figure out this female if it was the last thing he did. He lowered his head and took a step back. He gave a single glance up at the female before sitting back and glaring at the evil night sky he sholud've been sleeping under. He loved the dark, but the annoying stars created a small amount of light in his total darkness... If only he could block them out entirely so that he didn't have to look at them any longer.

Why oh why. It was always the deadliest question to her. And the hardest to answer. She wasn't always sure of why she did things. She just did them. But it always seemed like everyone used that word. Why did they have to use that word. And it was a question within a question. It confuesed her much so sometimes. So much she wished she could just stop thinking about it. But it was a great way to buy time, or irriatate another dog as long as you knew how to do it the right way.
Now she should actually answer the question. Why was she here? Who knows. Why now? Who cares. She was trying to think of a witty comeback, but all she could think of was, "Why does it matter that I come to you at a certain time for a certain reason? An important reason?" She asked. The words came tumbling out of her mouth like they usually did. "Can't I come to just talk or maybe even see you?" She said. She had lowered her voice that was just over a whisper now. Maybe this would work. She hoped it would. She really wouldn't want to just have words come tumbling out again.

Eventually the female spoke agian. Why does it matter? It matters because she was interupting his sleep... Would he ever let that go? It seemed impossible to let the issue of sleep drop from his mind... His eyes closed for a moment in pure fatigue. When she spoke again the brute took a step back and opened his eyes. Did this female actually care about him? He stared into her eyes trying to see if she was just trying to get to him, or if her quiet voice had truelly been that way for a reason.
Mud took yet another step closer. "Strange how one can care so much about one creature that has no heart." The brute sat down deciding ti was best to get comfortable seeing that Shasta wasn't going to be leaving any time soon unless he forced her out, and he currently didn't have the motivation to do so. He wished to see how this would end up, because at the moment the beta was grabbing his entire focus. Hardly did that ever happen, and when it did, it never lasted long. With eyes locked he listened to the noise of the earth around him, and soon to what was happening next.

So the alpha had no heart now? He had to. If he didn't, he would have attacked her by now. And since he hadn't, it means he did have a heart, even if it was a small one. She hadn't really planned on interupting his sleep, it just kind of happened. It had been an accident. And she didn't really care about him, but she did care about him at the same time. She could care less about where he was going or what he was doing, but she would care if he suddenly became hurt or something like that.
But did he really think she cared about him? Maybe she did, maybe she didn't. It was what she normally said to herself. Even if she had been wrong. She did care about some things but not about others. "I do care about you, just not as much as some might think." She said defiantly. She wasn't going to be the one who started breaking down or whatever and start ranting about her past life. She had done that enough with other dogs and they had grown annoyed of her. And she had made a pact to herself to live in the present, not the past. The past was over now. She no longer lived with humans.

He had been ready to shove her off every second but now... Now that she had said those words? He closed his eyes and reopened them to see the face of the fea. "Interesting," the brute said in a snarl. He took a step forward quickly ready to close the gap... Ready to attack... But he couldn't. As he tried to take another step something held him back. It was like a force... A force that happened to be a feeling. Was he going soft?
Mud shook his head trying to remove the thought that he actually couldn't attack someone from his mind. He was just tired, that was all... Nothing else, he wasn't actually caring for someone. He didn't have a heart... Did he? There was no way that a alpha like him could have a heart. He hated the idea. He had never had a heart before, why now? It was just the night, he was just tired. The excuse didn't last long. He had lost his edge, and everyone knew it.

Shasta smiled. He was starting to look conflicted. How bad for the poor baby. "Well why don't you try to sleep while you think about this?" She offered, nudging him back to his car. So what if she still had some of her house dog softness? It may come in handy one day. She wasn't always agressive. It just happened to be the dog she was with. It was giving her a headache to care about something she really did need to care about. If Mud died, she would take his place and she could order the pack around, not him. She wouldn't have to take orders from anyone else.
She waited for her alpha to head to his car. She hoped that he wouldn't put up a fight. It would make her headache much worse if he didn't go to his car. Even her paws ached for her to lay down. She wanted to get some sleep too so he couldn't say he was the only one that was tired. She scratched at the ground impatiently and eagerly to lay down and sleep what was left of the night away.
