The large male wolf trotted through the land, marveling at what he was seeing- it was like an open field, but not exactly. There trees, and grass, and then a few... odd... contraptions. What was this place? Sitting, he cocked his head to side, looking to see what on earth this was. Behind, there were large mountains, but instead of being rounded, and cone-shaped, they where rectangles, and straight. A few had other shapes, but were all the same, basically. Their insides were falling all over the floor as well. This land was not like the Vale he'd lived in for all his life. That much was very obvious.
The wind changed, and Kovu immediately dropped to his belly, smelling a herd of deer. His stomach growled, threatening to give him away. Looks like it was time to eat. Crouching, he stalked the herd, looking for something that he could take down by himself. The stag was out- he wasn't in the mood to get impaled, not knowing where the medicine wolf was in these lands. A young deer would be good. Scanning the young, Kovu spotted his mark- a young deer that appeared to have some sort of leg deformity, as it was limping lightly, not putting its full weight on the leg. Crawling as much as he dared, he waited until the last possible moment to strike. Leaping up, he dashed after the fawn, separating it from it's mother while the rest of the herd scattered. Running along side the fawn, he threw his weight against it, making the fawn trip- he took that moment to grab the fawn by he neck, and latch down. With a pained moan it died quickly, going limp in his muzzle. Dropping the carcass, he leaned down, starting to eat. Since he had no pack, and no one to answer too, he didn't have to wait for anyone to eat before him.
Perhaps Kovu would start his own pack here. Of course, first he'd have to find another loner.
Ripping into a leg, he pulled a strip of meat off, and chewed on it, wary of wolf packs that may have been roaming near by.

Six was out wandering around early today. He stumbled and hopped along on his merry trek to no where in particular. "Well, Six ole boy, What're we gonna do today?" The dog kept trudging foreward looking at the decaying civilization around him. His walk was almost normal for a Dutch Shepherd except every now and then Six would have a random spasm and twitch severly and turn around and look over his shoulder. He jerked sideways and nearly tumbled over, but managed to catch himself before crashing to the ground. A psychotic laugh shook from his chest and he loped about and suddenly a huge herd of deer stampeeded past the dog. In a frightened wreck Six yelped loudly and ran awkwardly out of harm's way. Once the deer had all passed Six crept back out and stumbled along once again.
The stench of death floated out in the air around the canine. His nose twitched and a hysterical laugh erupted from his dark muzzle. The canine leapt up to his feet and nearly stumbled back over. A voice rang out in his mind again, it was his friendly voice. Six liked it because it wasn't mean to him like the angry voice was. Careful, Six. Don't make them think you're a total nut case. Another cackle rumbled out of the canine. His raspy, deep voice responded to the voice in his head. "Shhh, he won't think I'm crazy. I'll be a good boy." The canine didn't wait for the voice to respond before he lumbered on toward the origin on the smell of decay and a wolf. It was a male and Six honestly was nervous about it. His strides were awkward and jerky. When many watched him run they predicted he would fall, but Six rarely did by some miracle.
As he got close enough to see the wolf and his meal a laugh came from Six. He couldn't control himself and lumbered clumsily up to the wolf. His insides were jumpy from nervousness. The voice in his head spoke again. Six, be careful. He could be dangerous. Six rolled his eyes and as if everyone had voices in their mind Six responded to his like it was completely normal. "Oh, shush. He won't hurt me." A giggle came from the insane dog again and he looked at the wolf as it tore the fawn apart. "Hello."

Kovu enjoyed the carcass, having not eaten anything larger then a rabbit, for quiet some time. Finishing the piece of meat he was eating, he was about to rip into the small body again when he smelt the scent of another male- Looking up, Kovu growled assertively- Listen to me and you'll live. Making it very clear we wasn't going to tolerate somebody attempting to steal his meal. He was through with that crap, and had been done with it when he'd left the Vale.
Seeing that it wasn't a wolf, he slightly relaxed. It, no he, was one of those... oh dear god. What were they called? There where a million different variation of it, size included, along with insane coat colors. Hybrids...? No, those were the crosses between the wolves and those animals... do... go...? Dog. That's what it was. Right. They were so rare in the Vale, they were almost a myth.
Were dogs common here? Was he the rarity? Or did he just find the only dog in this area by dumb luck and slim chance?
No matter. There were only two issues that needed to be addressed- Kovu wasn't sharing, as there was too little food to pass around, and he'd gladly make the dog submit if he tried anything."Hello."

Six flicked his ears up as the wolf growled at him. An expression of feigned fear painted his facade. He whimpered at the wolf to give him the response he wanted. Six..... Be nice. Six shook his head and a cackling laugh cracked his scared facade. The dog hopped closer to the wolf in his awkward strides and spoke. "Don't worry I don't want your baby deer." Six didn't wanna take the meal from the wolf, that would be stupid. There was a huge difference between insanity and stupidity. His large ears relaxed and flopped down slightly. Six had never seen a wolf in real life before, but he'd heard stories back at the lab about them. They were always made out to be big and scary. Six didn't find this one very frightening. His tail wagged and his tongue lolled out of his jaws. He looked over the wolf slowly and made a quick circle around him and sniffed. Six trotted back in front of the dog and hummed.
Six was blunt and didn't like the awkward silence. "You're one of those wolf things aren't you?" Six was pretty positive he was, but he could be wrong. He fidgeted and shivered breifly before he calmed himself down. How lucky was he? One of the only wolves in the are and Six found him. Six only hoped he wouldn't regret coming after the smell. A flea gnawed at his flesh and Six raised his hind leg and scratched at it feverishly.
Once his flea was taken care of Six looked at the dead animal on the ground and back at the wolf. A smile played on his crazy features. "Is that gonna be enough for you?" Six giggled again, unable to control himself today. A voice spoke to him in his mind. "Six, it might be wise to tell him your name, otherwise you may be a threat." Six giggles again and shook his head. "I guess you're right. He looked back at the wolf's face. "My name is Six and I am not a threat."[/blockquote]

Kovu relaxed slightly when he said that he had no interest in the fawn. Good. It appeared, from the way that the dog was looking at him, that he was the first wolf that the dog had ever seen. Well, that answered his question, and was only confirmed by the dog's question. "Yes, I am. I'm going to take it that wolves are not common here?" Maybe now he wouldn't have to fight so hard to keep his kills. You could just as easily get killed defending your food if you weren't careful. So, in his four years, Kovu was used to judging who was okay to fight, and who was a kamikaze mission. This dog was not a kamikaze.
He ignored the comment about if the baby would b enough- he as used to eating less than he should at once, and eating more frequently. Now that he no longer had to worry about his mother, he could relax more.
"My name is Kovu."

Six eyed the wolf cautiously and a twitch seized his shoulder. His insanity was bad today and he struggled for control over himself. He glanced down at the dead animal once again and inhaled the smell. Six might have been slightly hungrier than he thought, he licked his charcoal muzzle and looked back up at the wolf. He already said he wouldn't be a threat so he'd try his best to keep his word. Six figured this wolf was new around here like he was, but Six hadn't been anywhere were wolves were very common. How sad that must be, to know you're more than likely alone, unless you break down and mingle with the dogs. Six knew what it was like to be alone. Sure his friends were in his mind, but physically he was often alone. It still bothered him sometimes, but usually he could just converse with the voices and be satisfied. "You're the only one I've seen around here, but then again, I don't see many dogs either."
Six wagged his tail like a hyperactive little puppy would when offered a treat. His nerves were on edge today and he was having lots of little spasms. He looked over his shoulder in a jerky motion and then back foreward. Kovu, eh? Six had never been good with names, but he would remember the wolf's name since it was a wolf's. Six smiled his classic crazy smile and nodded. The voice was quiet now, but Six was still unable to control his spazzing muscles. He feared the wolf would decide he was dangerous and kill him. "It's nice to meet you, Kovu. You haven't been here long have you?" The dutch shepherd sat himself down hoping his spasms would calm down. [/blockquote]

Kovu watched as the dog twitched, and wondered if that was normal. As previously stated, he hadn't ever actually seen a dog before. Was that normal for them? He had no idea. Maybe there was something wrong with this one. Hopefully it wasn't contagious. Starting to gnaw on a leg (he wasn't going to let this 'Six' guy spoil his meal before the Jackles came out running...), he looked up again when Six asked if he was new here. "Yes, is it that obvious? And are there not many because you're new as well, or this is a scarcely populated area?"He'd decided then that, if there where other packs, he'd find one and take over. Or start his own. Either way. In some of the areas, you had to have someone who supported your challenge, though they didn't have to be from the packlands. If there where not, however, then the wolves, er, dogs, where probably running around with their heads cut off. Then that'd be even easier.
The dappled dog continued to spasm, and Kovu could smell the fear and anxiety starting to creep up on the male. Was he afraid Kovu was going to snap and kill him? Not likely. Unless, of course, he had happened to try to pull something with Kovu's mother. Then he'd be required to kill him, no questions asked. And don't think for a second he wouldn't- after Kovu had happened to stumble across some brute trying to force-breed his ol' lady. Well. Let's just say that was the last time that wolf ever looked at lady. Or anything else, for that matter.
>.<' My muse is being shot to hell and back again. Sorry.

Six's crazy eyes watched the wolf gnaw on a leg. Hunger grew inside of him from watching this wolf eat. He licked his lips, but stayed seated. He really didn't want to fight with Kovu, as it would probably be the end of Six. He'd have to go hunt soon. Six loved to hunt, but it wasn't a healthy kind of love. He just liked the idea of being able to stalk something, the plot it's demise, and to finally pounce and rip its throat out. Six was a sick canine. He liked the kill things and when he did he was always violent, but he hadn't started to kill just for fun, not yet. The thought of hunting made his mouth water. He licked his muzzle again and glanced around wildly. He didn't know what he would hunt, but he'd find something. A violent twitch seized the dog again and he let out a small almost whimpering growling sound as he steadied himself again. Control yourself, Six. Six shook his head and ignored the voice. He didn't wanna talk to it right now.
He looked at the wolf as he spoke and Six pondered what to say to him. He tried to keep his fear in check, but most males didn't respond well to the crazy dog. I just figured you were. I'm new here too, but most dogs seem to avoid me everywhere I go anyways. Six laughed at the end of his statement. It was almost a nervous cackle, but he shook it off and managed to stop the laugh soon after it started. Six twitched slightly and flicked his tail back and forth briefly. He had to be moving in some form or fashion. He always twitched or wagged his tail. Six thought more about hunting as the hunger rumbled inside him. He wanted something fun to hunt. Hunting was the only time Six was ever fully functional. Maybe that's why he loved it the way he did.

Twitchy. This dog was deffidently twitchy. Wonder what happened to make him that way. Well, not that Kovu would ask. If it was a touchy subject, he wasn't going to push it. Although, he did have the slight scent of sickness on him. Ripping into the carcass again, he pulled a good part of the leg off, and dragged it a bit. Now that he had the kill, he wasn't as hungry as he was. Or, maybe his body had tricked him, seeing the opportunity for food. The wol- dogs. The dogs here might just be dis-trustful of strangers. If you want the rest of the fawn, you can have it, I'm eating the rest of it.There was barely a little over half of it, as Kovu had only eaten part of the neck, the fore arm, part of the barrel, and ripped off the back leg.
A summer breeze difted by, ruffling his black coat, which felt amazing to him. Maybe next he'd find a big source of water and just lay in it, too cool off. Summers where merciless to Kovu- he didn't have the slight advantage his mother had of having white markings on his body. He was completely black, other than his blue eyes.

A sharp pain gripped Six's skull. He flinched slitghtly. It was a side effect of the drug. He watched closely as the wolf ripped into the fawn's leg. He let a dark smile curl the corners of he dark muzzle. He wanted to kill something so badly. He felt his heart pound at the thought. He licked his insets and as the wolf told him he could have it Six looked at him. "Are you sure you don't want it?" Six sniffed the fawn, it smelled delicious. His mouth watered and he pulled it closer to him. He twitched viloently again. He tasted the baby deer in his mouth and savored it. He was a lot hungrier than he thought. "I think the main reason they avoid me is becasue, well to be blunt, I'm a bit off."
Six sniffed as a breeze relieved them from the brutal heat. He shook himself and jumped slightly. He didn't wait anymore, he lowered his jaws onto the fawn and tore into its side. He tugged at some meat until it broke free and chewed it and swallowed it. He sighed happily as his stomach finally felt satsfaction from the hunger. He tore into the fawn again.

Kovu watched the twitch of the dog- was he just jumpy because Kovu was here? Or was it something bigger? He had no idea what a dog was suppose to smell like, but if he'd been a wolf, Kovu'd of guessed that Six needed to pay a visit to the medicine wolf. He nodded his head, both at the question, and at Six's statement.
Kovu was a little off as well, though it wasn't displayed by random twitching. It was inside his head. Sometimes it got too much for him, and he snapped. Not that he thought there was a possibility of him hurting a loved one- he'd seen the damage it could do. But to some poor, unsuspecting creature when he was on a rampage...
Well, that would not be pretty.
